Online conference "Developing Vietnam's tourism quickly and sustainably"
On the morning of November 15, 2023, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a conference to develop Vietnam's tourism quickly and sustainably in a live format at the Government headquarters and connected online to the headquarters of the Provincial People's Committees. , cities across the country.

According to the report of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, data on the number of tourists, accommodation, tourist market, tourism awards and representative offices promoting tourism abroad, experience of some countries in tourism recovery and development. In the first 10 months of 2023, the number of international visitors to Vietnam reached more than 9.97 million, exceeding the 2023 plan; Domestic visitors reached 98.7 million; Total revenue from tourists reached 582.6 trillion VND. Vietnam tourism received 54 awards at the 2023 Asia Pacific Regional Awards Ceremony of the World Travel Awards, continuing to affirm the brand and position of Vietnam tourism on the world tourism map .

Second, promote inter-regional and inter-local coordination, form value chains, tourism products and build a civilized, safe and friendly tourism environment;
Third, continue to strengthen inter-sectoral coordination, research and propose mechanisms and policies to further facilitate the recovery and development of tourism;
Fourth, accelerate market restructuring, focus on drastically implementing tourism promotion activities, and speed up the recovery of the international tourist market;
Fifth, develop branded tourism products and services with added value and high competitiveness, promote digital transformation and develop tourism human resources.
During the meeting, there were 14 presentations from relevant ministries, provinces, and effective tourism development corporations. The units presented difficulties and achievements after the Covid epidemic had a major direct impact. approach the tourism industry in general and tourism businesses in particular and have appropriate proposals to develop tourism in the future.
The comprehensive development orientation of Vietnamese tourism has been determined in Resolution No. 82/NQ-CP dated May 18, 2023 as "Special products - Professional services - Convenient and simple procedures - Competitive prices - Clean and beautiful sanitary environment - Safe, civilized and friendly destination", with the motto "close connection, smooth coordination, comprehensive cooperation", which focuses on a number of key task groups and solutions. In the conclusion of the meeting, the Prime Minister proposed the following solutions:
First, implement comprehensive and effective linkages and clearly assign responsibilities.
Second, focus on training and developing tourism human resources .
Third, build new and unique tourism models and products based on potential differences and competitive advantages .
Fourth, improve the effectiveness of tourism promotion and advertising.
Fifth, strengthen management of the tourism environment, preserve and promote natural and cultural values .
Sixth, accelerate digital transformation; Form and develop a smart tourism ecosystem in Vietnam.
With the efforts of the tourism industry, the smooth and effective coordination of ministries and branches, the synchronous and close connection and cooperation from the central to local levels and the positive response of The people and business community will create "tremendous synergy" for Vietnam's tourism to recover strongly and take off, successfully implementing Resolution 08 of the Politburo./.
